The Society of Fisheries Technologies (India) (SOFT(I)) was established in 1962, as an independent non-profit making body and was subsequently registered under The Travancore Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Socities' Registration Act XII of 1955, at Ernakulam

Membership of the Society is open to all persons and institutions interested in fisheries, fisheries technology, aquaculture and allied fields
